2013 turned out to be an extremely successful year for Leopold König. After coming fourth on stage two, he went on to win stage eight of the Vuelta a Espana in his first Grand Tour and thus gave the team its biggest success to date. He finished the Vuelta a Espana on ninth place overall among the world's best climbers. Earlier in the season he won the Czech Cycling Tour and the queen stage at the Tour of California. Long, difficult climbs suit him best and he will surely be able to show more of his talent in the upcoming season.
